Born out of the hard half of the late 60s mod scene, skinheads were a more concentrated version of the mods. Shorter hair, bigger boots, longer sideburns and a more working class background were what set the skinheads apart from their predecessors with a more purist following of Jamaican ska and reggae music providing the soundtrack to their lifestyle.
